After 12 championship rounds, visiting 10 different circuits, totalling over 360 racing laps, and 12 podium visits, the British Supersport Championship came to a fantastic end this weekend at Brands Hatch in Kent.



For the final supersport race of the day and of the 2011 season, Sam started from row 4 in 16th spot.And after a long hard race finished 1st in the british supersport Cup Championship, so it was off to the podium for “Supersonic Sam”!



Sam also got fastest lap of the race in the cup championship with a best time of 1.30.602 As well as picking up his trophy for the race win, Sam was soon back at the podium picking up his trophy for achieving overall 3rd in the 2011 British Supersport Cup Championship. Excellent end to the 2011 British Supersport season.

Sam Hornsey moves to the main British Supersport championship in 2012, after a good first year in the supersport cup Sam will now concentrate on the main championship for 2012, knowing this to be a very hard step forward Sam looks forward to the challenge.



His team will remain the same in 2012 Hornsey steels, The bike will remain the same Suzuki 600 and again RLR will be sorting the bike prep and motors.

Team Hornsey steels get their BSB supersport cup championship off to a great start, Sam Hornsey racing his RLR Triumph 675 to 2nd place at the first round from brands hatch, then going one better in the second round from Oulton park to give him 2nd overhaul in the cup championship.

Sam Hornsey RLR Triumph 675 wins both Thundersport GB 600 races from Donnington Park and sets a new 600 outright lap record breaking Luke Mossey's old lap by 0.4 seconds, David Jones RLR Triumph 675R finished 2nd to Sam in both races, giving both riders and machines a good run out ready for the first round of BSB from Brands Hatch next month.

This is the 3rd podium finish for David in the last 3 BSS meetings. Thruxton has some of the fastest corners and straights in the country. So it is a big advantage to have a very fast bike with good set up. Nice one david, next round oulton park.

MOTO 450 Storm Oulton Park

Mike (Spike) Edwards #11 Suzuki 450 stormed to a double outright race win at Oulton park the 4th round of the Thundersport GB championship, the amazed paddock watched mike lap Oulton in a time of 1.52.7 in practice making him the man to beat.



Race day in a mixed class of F400, street fighters, mini twins, and moto450s in heavy rain from pole mike won both races with ease, hot on his tale Steve Tomes #16 Yamaha 450 finished 2nd in both races, Rob Elsmere Aprillia 550 pushed to 3rd but was ruled out 2 laps from home with technical problems. Steve Tomes continues to impress racing the RLR Triumph Motorsports 675 winning man of the meeting at the 9th round of the NGRRC championships at Pembrey, due to his riding ability in very wet and tricky racing conditions Steve pulled off 7 wins from 7 starts over the weekend, with the track drying out later in the day Steve had the added bonus of a new class lap record, well done that man.

TRIUMPH NEW TEAM "DIGBY BROWN RACING" LEAD IN TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Newly formed www.digbybrownracing.co.uk lead both the 2008 National Scottish SuperSport 600 Championship and also the NEMCRC Sound Of Thunder Championship aboard the Triumph 675 Daytona in the hands of John Macdonald and Derek Glass.

The Fife-based team constructed and managed by Gordon Thomson of G-MOTO was put together and launched at the start of March 2008 with the backing of title sponsor Digby Brown Solicitors/BLD to contest in the Scottish S/S600 Championship and the NEMCRC SOT Championship.

Both John and Derek were very keen at the chance to race the Triumph 675 Daytona in the very competitive 600 class dominated over the years by the Japanese four. To be competative Digby Brown Racing enlisted the services of Rick Leddy from www.rlrmotorsports.co.uk to do all the engine work on thier S/S 600 machines.

STEVE TOMES CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

Steve Tomes continues to impress with an outstanding display of racing in tricky damp conditions at Mallory Park, At the 2nd round of the EMRA Championship, racing the Triumph 675 for the triumphmotorsports.co.uk team.

From pole position taking a flag to flag victory in the 1st 600 race. which led to drama in the 2nd 600 race due to a mix up in race times Steve missed the warm up lap and had to start from the back of the grid for the 10 lap race.

By lap 3 the field had been pulled apart as Steve made his way to the front and continued to pull away to the flag to take his second win of the day. Next up the 12 lap build base 1300 open final again aboard the 675 from pole position took the lead into the 1st corner for another flag to flag victory, giving Steve a comfortable championship lead in both the 600 and 1300 classes Next run out for Steve is June 15th round 3



STEVE TOMES CROWNED HONDA SUPERCLUB CHAMPION

SteveTomes wins the final round at Mallory Park to be crowned the 2007 New Era F600 Honda Superclub Champion, taking the championship from last years defending champion Mark Cronshaw by 62 points. This year was the first year Steve had raced our Triumph but still managed to pull off 22 race wins around the UK race circuits. (Not bad for an old boy)
